I took both standard and pass plus lessons with Steve during 2009/10. Needless to say I passed my test but that's not the only reason I would recommend him.
Any instructor will get you through your test eventually, but they won't necessarily help you to be a good driver. I thought Steve was more worried about making me safe and confident on the road than merely helping me pass.
Steve tells it like it is, if he thinks you could do something better than he'll say so. Sometimes when your learning this can be frustrating but I found that Steve was always very patient and the feedback he gave was genuine rather than just what I wanted to hear. In the long-run I'm certain that I'll be a better driver for learning through Steve.

The instruction provided was of a very high standard, I found it fast and easy to learn how to drive with the techniques used by Steve. I got to experience the correct roads for the test and perfect the challenging manoeuvre areas which I was eventually asked to do in the test itself. Every big and small aspect of driving was covered comprehensively which helped me drive as comfortable as possible. I passed first time with the exceptional tuition I received. Thanks again Steve!

Highly recommended!!! Steve is an excellent, patient, calm and reliable instructor. Due to previous bad instructors I was really lacking confidence in learning to drive and felt like giving up. With the other instructors I found it hard to understand their way of teaching and thought it was me that couldn't drive however now I know it's them that can't teach! The way Steve explained things it made me see driving in a completely new perspective. Everything seemed so much more clearer. I kept thinking that it was really hard to take in all this new information and that I couldn't do it. Now it all seems really easy and straight forward. I see it in a completely new light. I have been driving for about a month now and couldn't thank Steve enough for his exceptional teaching. I worry that if I hadn't went with Steve, I would still be learning to drive or most likely gave up. Through my own experience I can assure you that it is hard to find a decent instructor especially one that is so calm and patient. Bad instructors make you feel worthless and stupid as they don't have the patience and get angry at mistakes you make or if you don't understand them which is all their fault! They're in the wrong job. Go with Steve, keep your dignity and self belief as well as saving yourself a fortune on choosing the wrong instructor.

Always helpful and patient when i couldn't get a manoeuvre quite right and provided detailed diagrams to help me understand why i was carrying out the manoeuvre in a certain way.
Very friendly guy and supportive at nervous times such as the the first lesson or the test day.

Steve has various methods of describing how to do different tasks and has plenty of patience for people like me! He put a lot of confidence in me before my test and I passed first time :) I would recommend Steve to anyone for lessons!

To be honest, i was a very nervous driver to start with with not much confidence in my driving but luckily enough, Steve had much patience with me. He even helped me stay relaxed before my test and was there to help with my Thoery Test as well. I passed about a year ago now and it was the best thing i ever done. Thanks Steve.
